Ron is very proud to have led the way for our commission to approve keeping the amphitheatre under county control. The St. Augustine Amphitheatre has produced income during its first two years and has provided lots of entertainment for our community and people coming to St. Johns County to attend the shows. This has also been good for the hotels and restaurants in the area. This action saved the taxpayers of our county thousands of dollars that would have been paid out to a private company.
Encouraged and supported the airport board to come off the tax rolls by October 2010. It will happen this fall. Voted against a motion that could have endangered the commercial businesses at our airport and caused most of them to move to Duval County. This would have been a huge loss to our county.
Has supported and assisted the 4H Club in many of their activities. This is a great organization with lots of very positive results for our children. The staff as well as hundreds of volunteers do such a great job. Also led the way to keep the EOC building off of the agricultural center property.
Worked with federal and state officials as well as staff and our board to expand the interchange at Hwy 210 and I95.
